Your Resources & Everything You Need

Whether you’re just beginning or continuing your mental health journey, accessing the right therapy resources in Maryland and DC can make all the difference. I’ve compiled trusted therapy resources in Maryland and DC to support your emotional well-being between sessions.

Intake and Consent Forms

Before your first session, you’ll receive a secure link to complete the following:

  • Client Intake Form – Basic background and presenting concerns
  • Informed Consent for Telehealth – Your rights and responsibilities in online therapy
  • HIPAA Privacy Notice – How your health information is protected
  • Payment Agreement – Session fees, cancellation policy, and billing procedures

All forms are completed electronically through a HIPAA-compliant platform. If you have questions about any document, I’m happy to review it with you.

Technology Tips for Online Sessions

To ensure a smooth virtual therapy experience:

  • Choose a quiet, private space where you feel safe to speak openly
  • Use a device with a camera and microphone (computer, tablet, or smartphone)
  • Ensure a stable internet connection
  • Use headphones for added privacy, if needed
  • Close other apps or tabs to minimize distractions

You’ll receive a secure video link before each session. If you experience technical issues, we can switch to a phone session as a backup.

Confidentiality and Privacy

My practice is rooted in connection, and I’m happy to guide you toward additional therapy resources in Maryland and DC that align with your goals and values. Your privacy is protected through:

  • HIPAA-compliant video platforms
  • Secure electronic records
  • Encrypted communication for forms and scheduling
  • A clear confidentiality policy, reviewed before your first session

For more details, visit the Technology and Confidentiality page.

Scheduling and Cancellations
  • Sessions are 50 minutes and held via secure video
  • Appointments are scheduled directly via phone or email
  • Cancellations require 24 hours’ notice to avoid a late fee
  • Reminders are sent via email or text (based on your preference)

If you need to reschedule, please reach out as soon as possible so we can find a new time that works for you.

Payment and Insurance
  • Check with your insurance carrier to ask about your mental health benefits. This will let you determine what the insurer will reimburse you for individual or couples therapy.
  • You will be responsible for paying for services at the time of service and then you may file a claim with your carrier for reimbursement.
  • Parent Coordination is generally not reimbursable through your insurance carrier.
  • Payment is due at the time of service
  • I accept major credit cards and HSA/FSA cards

If you have questions about payment or documentation, I’m happy to assist.
